Ronald Eugene "Butch" Kelley Jr.
February 18, 1953 - March 31, 2023 

Ronald Eugene Kelley Jr. "Butch", 70, of Rock Hill, South Carolina passed away peacefully at home on March 31, 2023.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 6 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home in Rock Hill with a visitation to follow. 

A private family burial will follow on a later date at Forest Hills Cemetery in Rock Hill.

Butch Kelley was born in Sumter, South Carolina to Rev. Ronald Eugene Kelley, Sr. and Jean McCaskill Kelley on February 18, 1953. He graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He married Michelle Merritt Kelley on December 25, 1990 in Rock Hill. He worked as a Branch Manager and Assistant Vice President of Family Trust Federal Credit Union for 9 years and built over 270 new homes in York and Chester Counties with Dream Builders and Developers, Inc. and Butch Kelley and Son General Contracting, LLC for 32 years. Although he had many achievements, he would want everyone to know his greatest achievement was giving his life to Jesus Christ and knowing him as his personal Lord and friend. In everything he did, he performed it with conviction and to the Glory of God.

He previously served as Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Building Committee and Chairman of Deacons at Rawlinson Road Baptist Church in Rock Hill. 

He was preceded in death by both his father and mother.

Butch Kelley is survived by his wife, Michelle Merritt Kelley; his son, Ron Kelley and his daughter-in-law, Mallory Jones Kelley of Selma, Alabama; his son, Mitch Kelley of Rock Hill; his grandsons, Hudson Kelley and Coleman Kelley of Selma, Alabama; his sister, Kathie Kelley of Acworth, Georgia; his sister, Rhonda Kelley Hargrove and his brother-in-law, Bill Hargrove of Rock Hill; his sister Melody Kelley of Decatur, Georgia; his father-in-law and his mother-in-law, Hank and Julianne Merritt of Rock Hill; 2 nephews and 6 nieces, great nephews and nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles. 

Memorials may be given to Wayne Patrick Hospice Group of Rock Hill, SC.
