ROCK HILL - Miss Harvey Lee Ward of 503 Hampton St. died July 24, 1994, at home. Funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hermon Presbyterian Church, where she was a member. The Revs. Leon Davis and R.G. Toatley will officiate. Burial will be in Barber Memorial Cemetery. Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Miss Ward, born in York County, was a retired Rock Hill schools librarian. She had been a librarian at Emmett Scott High School and head librarian at Rock Hill High School until her retirement in 1974. She had taught night school in Gaffney and summer school for the S.C. State University extension in Charleston. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in York and Mather Academy in Camden.

She was a graduate of Claflin College in Orangeburg and earned her master's degree from Columbia University in New York City. She also had attended S.C. State University in Orangeburg and Winthrop College in Rock Hill. She had been an elder at her church. She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, the National Education Association and the York County Association of Retired Teachers. She also was a volunteer at a Rock Hill senior citizens' center.

Survivors are her adopted daughter, Mrs. Shirley Hooper of Rock Hill; three grandchildren.

The body will lie in state at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.
