In Memory

David Riggs

Only a Memory

Your smile, your laughter
...Only a memory.
Your voice, your personality
...Only a memory.

Sometimes people mention your name.
Some just keep quiet.
But no matter what is or isn’t said.
You’re always on someone’s mind.

Many years have gone by,
But it seems like only yesterday,
You were by your family’s side.

We can only think of whom you’d be,
To us, you only remain a memory.

It’s been a while since you’ve been gone.
For your friends and family, things just aren’t the same.
It still doesn’t seem real.
Who holds the blame?

If love could have saved you,
You’d still be here today.
The love we hold for you,
Will never change.

As you lay in a still rest,
God broke our hearts to prove he took the best.
Everything you did, everything you were.
It’s only a memory.

I still have alot of good memories of David Riggs at St. Peters. One of the funniest people I ever met. R.I.P.

Dave was always the class clown, yet always there to help. I think he enjoyed making people laugh as much as we enjoyed laughing.

I miss him terribly and think of him daily.

We had many, many good times together, I will never forget him dressing as a clown to cheer up my
sister-in-law in the hospital.

The best of the best my friend. May he never be forgotten.

Dave was such a wonderful, kind, sweet guy. We had so much fun in high school and at NIU. His passing was such a huge loss, that to this day, I think of him. I hope he is up in heaven singing STING, entertaining Cyndy, Tom and Jaymie. Please check out the pictures in the facebook and pics page of Dave. One my favorite moment was when we all went to see Friday the 13th, Dave was yelling at the screen "Dont open that door"!
Dave, we will see each other again...Please, make me LAUGH.

I have so many fond memories of David at St. Peters. He could always get Sister Vera Marie to chuckle!!!

Dave lived about 3 blocks from me, and he and I walked to Walker Elementary School together when we were in first and second grade. I can't remember when he made the move over to St. Peter's, but I started there in the second semester of 2nd grade. I think Dave started there in 3rd grade. Dave was THE Class Clown at St. Peter's. Always good for a laugh.

I remember somewhere around 6th or 7th grade, being up in his bedroom after school listening to "The Who". I still think of Dave whenever I hear "Baba O'Riley (Teenage Wasteland)" and him doing the power chord windmills like Pete Townshend.

A really good guy!
