David W. Leese, 41, beloved father, husband, brother, and son, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011, at home. The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W. 103rd St., Overland Park, Kan. Friends may call from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Church where the Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. David was born Sept. 16, 1970, in Bethesda, Md., and had lived in the Kansas City area for 14 years. He was a member of the class of 1992 at Gettysburg College and graduated cum laude, receiving departmental honors in history. He was a member of the fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha, and participated in the ice hockey club. He earned an MBA from Indiana University. David had been a financial executive with Sprint, Embarq and CenturyLink and a volunteer at Children's Mercy Hospital. He was an avid Civil War historian and fan of the Washington Capitals and the Kansas City Chiefs. David is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Leah J. (Foster) Leese, daughters, Emily Anne and Allison Olivia, parents, Watson K. and Ida Mullins Leese, brother, W. Craig Leese and wife Kristin and sister, Joan O. and husband Dr. Steve Samuel and numerous nieces and nephews. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
