Paula Powell

Paula Powell, age 73, of North Canton, passed away Tuesday evening, March 22, 2016 in her home. She was born July 21, 1942 in Lorain, Ohio to Ronald and Pauline (Novak) Doane. Paula was a graduate of Rocky River High School Class of 1960. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1964, and later received her Master's degree in Accounting from the University of Akron. Paula held membership in Canton Quilters Guild, Brookside Country Club, 18 Holer Ladies Golf Group, and Northwestern Great 8. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Mahjong, and most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Tim...
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Karlo-Libby Funeral Home. 
Interment will be in North Canton Cemetery. A reception will follow at Brookside Country Club. 
Friends may call Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tim and Paula Powell Hoover High School Achievement Scholarship,

So sorry to hear this.   It sounds like she did not linger with her diagnosis which was a blessing. I remember her as a really sweet gal and fun sense of humor in high school.   Rest in peace, Paula.

I am so saddened to hear about Paula's death.  We have kept in touch over the years and for the past several have been meeting for lunch in Akron, half way between our homes.  Our lunches were always a joy to me.  She was usually there when I arrived and had her Kindle in hand.  She was an avid reader.  We would discuss ore travels, families and of course our golf games.  She and Tim had been taking each of their grandchildren on a trip for their 10th birthday, so Tom and I adopted that idea.  She was a great friend and I will miss her greatly..
