John was a true friend.  We didn't see each other very much after high school because our lives physically went in different directions, but we kept in touch.  He was always genuinely interested in what I was doing and encouraging to me.  He made an iimpression on me because he was always so gentle, soft spoken, and kind.  Most of all, he had a faith that was genuine and he lived it out faithfully.  His passing was a loss for everyone and I miss him.

John Robert (Bobby) was my first friend when I moved to Rogers. He was always a giving person. After getting out of my cast from a broken leg in 1965, Bobby always was with me when I was capable of walking with a cane. It was just in case I fell, which I did frequently. He would get me back on my feet. After I moved from S.9th to S.11th he would come over with the rest of the 9th and Cypress gang and we would play hide and seek around the new construction. And of course I fell down and cut my leg open on a broken brick. He went to the hospital with me and stayed in the ER while I was being stitched up. He had a dog named Suzie and once I dared him to eat a piece of Suzies dog food. Of course he did it. I wouldn't do it but always wondered what Purina Dog Chow tasted like. I will miss him greatly and this morning after reading of his passing I looked down at the very scar that remains and I thought of the day he was there for me telling me that I would be ok. Rest in Peace my friend.
