Vanessa Farrish January 15, 1960 - November 08, 2017 

Mrs. Vanessa A. Farrish, age 57, of 724 Jones Lester Road, Roxboro, NC, departed this life Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in UNC Hospitals-Chapel Hill, NC. She was a native of Person County and a member of Zion Level Baptist Church in Semora, NC. She is survived by her husband, Gene Farrish of the home; four daughters: Comonik Bumphus (Trevor) of Roxboro, Fredericka Bumphus of Burlington, NC, Nikkia Barnette (Jason) of Durham, NC and Keisha Dennis (J.J.) of Texas; one son, Douglas Bumphus (Heather) of Roxboro; her father, John Bumphus (Shirl) of Roxboro; three sisters: Deborah Stephens, Charlene Hairston (Jerry) and Veronica Holloway, all of Roxboro; one brother, John A. Bumphus (Sandra) of Roxboro; six aunts: Ella Allen, Mary Winstead, Frances Richmond, Cathy Bumphus and Anna Thomas, all of Roxboro and Ruth Jones of Washington, DC; four uncles: Rev. Larry Smith of Greensboro, NC, Donald Richmond of Baltimore, MD, Theodore Hicks of Washington, DC and Linnon Carver of Roxboro; brother-in-law, Ricky Farrish (Ann) of Deerfield, FL; sister-in-law, Carol Serano of Roxboro; twenty-six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other additional relatives and friends. The funeral service will be Sunday, November 12, 2017 at 2:00pm at Zion Level Baptist Church, 1780 Zion Level Church Road, Semora, NC 27574 with the Rev. Willie O. Glenn, pastor, officiating and providing the eulogy. The body will lie in state in the church for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the home.
