Ray Kowitz

Raymond George Kowitz, 76 year old long time Rupert resident, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, December 8, 2012.

Ray was born in Rupert, Idaho on January 11th, 1936.  He was the son of Martha and George Kowitz.

Ray served in the Army from 1953 to 1961.  Upon returning, he worked at a local electrical company until he and a partner started their own company, H & K Electric.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whitwater rafting, gardening, geo-caching and creatively cooking for his family and friends.

He is survived by his beautiful wife Alice, his six children, Janet, Brenda, Jeff, Carla, Doug, and Dan and his five grandchildren.

Ray was loved by all who knew him and he will endure in their hearts and memories.

Memorial services were held at 1 PM, Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert with Pastor Travis Turner officiating and Military Rites provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization. Cremation and Memorial Services were under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Rupert, Id.
