Charles Pickering VIEW PROFILE

Charles L. Pickering, 73, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on July 3rd, 2010. Charles was born in 1936 to Charles and Mary Pickering in Rupert, Idaho, where he spent his early childhood.

At the age of 20, he went to work for Union Pacific railroad and retired in 1996 after 40 years. He spent two years in the U S Army and was stationed in Germany for a time. Charles married Lillian Hale in 1962 and was later divorced. He is survived by three daughters from that marriage: Shauna (Will) Hunt of Iowa; Dyan (Gil) Chason of Meridian; and Carol (Jack) Struthers, Boise.

Charles remarried in 1976 to Barbara Miller and they enjoyed 34 years together. He is survived by Barbara and three step-children: Kathy Fleck of Washington; Claudia (Bill) Kreamer of Boise and Brian (Michelle) Miller of Washington. He is survived by one sister, Darlene (Ross) Hoffland of Boise; two brothers: Paul of New Mexico and Jake of Rupert. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two brothers. 

Charles enjoyed dancing, gardening, fishing, camping, and traveling. He was a member of the Railroad Old Timers, Good sam Club, & Eagles Lodge.  Charles and Barbara enjoyed several years traveling to Yuma for the winter.

  At his request there will be no services.  Memorials in Charle's name may be sent to Idaho Fish & Game, 600 S. Walnut, Boise, Id. 83712
