Jacob Howard Timmons

Jacob Howard Timmons, 84 passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Minidoka County Hospital in Rupert, idaho. He was born on March 20, 1934 in Rupert, Idaho to Jacob and Marie ( Fritz) Timmons.

Howard grew up in Rupert, Idaho and graduated from Rupert High School in 1954. After high school he joined the Army in 1957 and served in the Korean War.. He was discharged in 1965 with 8 years of service. After the Army, Howard attended a welding school in Aberdeen, Maryland and worked as a welder blacksmith.  He later became a trucker moving furniture, and in 1977 he became employed by the Minidoka Irrigation District (MID) as a ditch rider on the Northside. He remained at the MID for 19 years and retired in 1996  Aftyer retirement, Howard continued to work on the farm of Duncan and Walton.

Howard married Alice Marie DeNaughel Purin in May of 1973 in Elko, Necada and was happily married for 44 years.  He enjoyed riding and working with horses, maintained a cow/calf operation on the farm and enjoyed Sunday drives.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Marie Timmons; siblings Edith Timmons, Ethel (Balance) Timmons, James Timmons, Ira Timmons, Robert Timmons, Raymond Timmons, and George Timmons.

He is survived by his spouse Alice of Rupert, Idaho; daughter Rose (Purin) Hansen of Boise; sons Elio Purin of Twin Falls, and Michael Purin of Rupert; his sister Neva (Grisenti) Timmons of Rupert, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Cremation arramgements are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary. A graveside service will be held at the Rupert Cemetery on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m..  Military rites will be performed by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization.  The family will be greeting friends and relatives after the service at the Minidoka County Senior Center.
