Myrna Johnson (Halverson)

Myrna Halverson, 70, of Rupert, passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Octor 10, 1936, in Rupert, the daughter of Lorna Darrington and Theo Johnson.  She attended schools in Rupert and graduated from Rupert High School.  She married Robert "Red" Halverson, her high school sweetheart on Aug. 10, 1955, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. After the first years, while Red was in the Marine Corps, which took them to Virginia and Oceanside, Calif., Red and Myrna settled on their farm in Rupert and worked hard, side by side, making a home for their family.

Myrna was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She loved to have fun.  She loved to travel with her family and friends.  We all enjoyed sharing these adventures with her.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions in the library, Primary, Young Women's Organization and Relief Society.  Her generous, loving heart blessed everyone around her.  She was an extremely hard worker and she loved her work.  She blessed the lives of many with her healing hands as a massage therapist.  She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, and her parents.

She is survived by her children: daughter, Zoann, (Dan) Taylor of Boise;  sons: Kevin (Suzanne) Halverson of Rupert, and Scott (Karyn) Halverson of Germany; 12 grandchildren, Justin and Nathan Tolman, Michael and Kiara Taylor, Dayna, Troy, Kelsie, Samantha and Travis Halverson, Ashley, Joshua and Taylor Halverson, and her cousin, Loa Mae Rutschke.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at the Rupert LDS Idaho Stake Center with Bishop Steven Bradshaw officiating.  Burial was at the Rupert Cemetery.
