Elmer "Frog" Hieb

Elmer "Frog" Hieb, a 73-year-old resident of Burley passed away on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at the Burley Care Center after a brief illness.

He was born April 16, 1934, in Wishek, North Dakota, and moved with his family to Rupert in 1942. He served in the United states Army.  He was employed as a mechanic at Rupert Auto and as a truck driver for Simplot.   He enjoyed bowling and old cars.

He is survived by three daughters, Koreena Ortiz of Kenai, Alaska, Teresa Preussler and Lisa Liepzke both of Lewiston, Idaho; his siblings, Gary (JoAnn) Hieb of Rupert, Ruth Jonas of Blackfoot, Loretta (Blain) Allphin of Burley, Doris Hieb of Rupert, Richard (Sharon) Hieb of Central Point, Oregon, and Melvin Hieb of Rupert; and his grandchildren and great grand-children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lydia Hieb.

As per Frog's wishes, cremation will take place under the direction of Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley, with private services at a later date.
