U.S. Veteran

Sergeant First Class, Kevin Lee Leech, 38, of Fort Leonard Wood, MO, formerly of Russellville, AR passed into glory on Friday, May 28, 2010 at Fort Leonard Wood. Kevin was a blessing to his parents, Robert Leech and the late Judy Whorton Leech, when he was born May 22, 1972 in Texarkana, TX. Precious memories and life-long friends were made when he attended Russellville High School and Atwood High School in Illinois, where he graduated in May of 1990. He was happily married to wife, Tracie Whych Leech, together; they formed a unique and wonderful bond and family. An Army Veteran of operation Iraqi Freedom, Kevin served his country with pride and honor as an expert combat engineer during his 19 year thriving military career, after being inducted February 14, 1991. Kevin was known for his generous personality, as a volunteer fireman with the St. Roberts Fire Department, near Fort Leonard wood, Mo, where he was eagerly working toward certification to become a full-time fireman following his military career.

Being an inspiring role-model, Kevin enjoyed spending his time by encouraging our youth as a softball coach and mentor. As a true outdoorsman, he loved sports and activities that took him outside, such as camping, hunting and four-wheeling in the country.

Leaving this earth before Kevin was his mother, Judy Whorton Leech and a brother Bobby Leech, Jr. Family members who shall forever cherish Kevin's love and memory in their hearts include; his beautiful wife Tracie Leech of Fort Leonard Wood, MO; six precious daughters Amber Leech and Carolyn J. Leech, both of Anoka, MN, Khodi Leatherwood and Kheli Bartlett both of Fort Leonard Wood, MO; and Tiffany Campos of Florida; Kelley Leanne; a loving son, Nathan Leatherwood of Lubbock, TX; five adoring grandchildren; his maternal grandmother, Elsie Whorton, of London; his wonderful father, Robert K. Keech of Gays, IL: two gracious sisters, Vickie Staggs and husband Ricky of Knoxville, AR, Cindy Thomas and husband Billy of London, AR; three close brothers, Jerry Leech and Gary Leech both of IL, and Steven Leech of Kansas; and his dog, Kooter Leech.

i am so sorry for our loss of a classmate we qll went through so much together in high school we laughed cried and went off on one another and at times treated each other like crap but when the day was through we all came together to laugh and have fun and learned to put our differences aside.kevin always knew all the right things to say and how to get a laugh out of me when i was in a bad mood or upset about something that bow looking back was so unimportant he was always happy when i was around but at the same time he knew how to get on my nerves as well i remember him always smiling even though alot of us didnt want to be there but together we somehow made it through he will be missed very much he touched alot of peples hearts in high school with his kind words and his smile.i remember his smile and his eyes the most they were always so bright and full of life.and of course i cant even count all the times he wanted to go out lol he was very persistent.knowing he is now in heaven with our father brings alot of comfort and joy may god hold you close and now keeping you safe.may god bless and keep his family safe and comfort them.
