Comments:
I worked in the hospital industry from 1970 - 2004 when illness dictated that I leave employment; I volunteer my time as a parish nurse at Prince of Peace Lutheran here in Amarillo and it is a joyous occupation in my retirement years. I also volunteer for several community agencies and have an intense interest in assisting those that have experienced domestic violence/dating violence/sexual assualt. I have recently published a Domestic Violence Screening Tool for Domestic Violence (internationally) and another article will be published in the Journal of Christian Nursing this fall on Domestic Violence. I also lecture on this topic to students and other parish nurses locally and internationally. I have also published poems in various journals in the last 15 years. I spent some time in the Navy and upon honorable discharge was a Commander. My travels have taken me to New Zealand and Australia. I am unsure at this time if I will be able to attend the reunion in 2011, but it is on my agenda and I will try.
