John Alan Kern of Van Wert, Ohio, formerly of Saginaw. John went to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 31, 2009 in Van Wert, Ohio after a short illness at the age of 50. He was born to Elmer and Mary (Bucholz) Kern on June 14, 1958. John graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from GMI in 1981, and earned a masters degree from CTU in change management in 2007. He worked in the automotive field in plastics engineering for many years in Saginaw and Van Wert, Ohio. John leaves his sons, Glenn and Jacob Kern; parents, Elmer and Mary Kern; sister, Jeannine (Todd) Holle and godson, John Holle; and his ex-wife, Gwen Kern.
