Mary passed away Monday, November 4, 2019 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw. Age 74 years. She was born November 15, 1944 in Saginaw to Webster and Dorathea Laetz. Mary married Terry M. Klein on October 13, 1962. He survives her. She was a loving and devoted wife to Terry for 57 years and raised three strong Christian men, David, Daniel and Dennis. Mary was a member of the Hope Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Charles. She was an entrepreneurial woman who with her family started and ran T.M. Klein and Sons for 43 years. Mary opened her arms to several foreign exchange students and to every employee and their families. She was an advocate and past vice-president for the Saginaw Valley Beekeepers Association and newsletter editor for the Michigan Beekeepers Association for 14 years where she along with her husband won the Michigan Beekeepers of the Year Award in 1996. Mary loved to volunteer for special events at her church. She shared her love for God, gardening, and cheering on the Saginaw Spirits (her favorite hockey team) with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her loving husband, Terry M. Klein; three sons and spouses, David F. Klein, Daniel S. (Kelly) Klein and Dennis P. (Melanie) Klein; eight grandchildren, Rachel Klein, Joshua (Joni) Klein, Jessica Warren-Klein, Jacob (Alaxzandria) Klein, Jonah (Jaclyn) Klein, Matthew Klein, Jessica (Daniel) Fairchild and Carina Chinery; eight great grandchildren, Jocelyn Matthias, Maddalyn, Josiah, Aubrey, Adrianna, Addison, Madalynn and two little bees coming in November 2019 and February 2020; sister, Elenore Watson; sister-in-law Karen (John) Ashton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2019 at Hope Ev. Lutheran Church, 1123 W. Walnut St., St. Charles. Rev. Jason Baldwin will officiate with burial in Garfield Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Kendall Funeral Home, St. Charles on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Ev. Lutheran Church.
