Margaret E. Bents, age 70 of St. Paul Park, passed away unexpectedly on Apr. 27, 2015 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Funeral service will be 1 pm Saturday, May 2, 2015 at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 1000 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday, May 1, 2015 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 -80th Street S., Cottage Grove and also one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Cottage Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

Margaret Ellen (Schultz) Bents was born on May 1, 1944 in Saginaw, MI, to Rev. Armin and Eleanor Schultz. Margaret attended St. Paul's Lutheran School, Michigan Lutheran Seminary, and Dr. Martin Luther College (MLC). Margaret taught first and second grades in Marinette, WI for 3 years, before moving to St. Paul, MN. She took a secretarial position at 3M Company where she met the love of her life, Dewayne Bents. They were united in marriage on May 1, 1971 in St. Paul at Divinity Lutheran Church. They made their home in St. Paul Park and were active members of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church. After working at 3M for 4 years, she became a stay-at-home mom to Jennifer, Scott, Mark, and Michael. In 1986, she started working with Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) and worked part time there for 20 years. She adored her family and enjoyed spending time with them as well as being involved in church activities at St. Andrews.

Margaret is survived by her husband Dewayne; children Jennifer (Kris), Scott (Kristin), Mark (Jessica), Michael (Jamie); grandchildren Samantha, Jackson, Tyson, and Louis. She leaves behind siblings Paul Schultz, Barbara Harris and Linda Schwartz. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Kathryn Pinchoff; brothers John Schultz and Richard Schultz.
