BODY RECOVERED IN MUDDY RIVER

Moab - The body of a 23-year-old Salt Lake City man, swept into the swollen Colorado River and drowned, has been located four days and 10 miles from where he went into the water.
The Grand County sheriff's office said a scenic river cruise crew found the body Monday at a point in the high, muddy river known as Gold Bar, 10 miles downstream from here.
Scott (sic) Crouch was outfitting two rubber rafts at the Moab Boat Dock late Thursday when a freak wind accompanying a thundershower upended the rafts and dumped Crouch into the cold, fast water.

Funeral services for Scott Ernest Crouch, 23, of 3692 South 1300 East, who drowned in the Colorado River near Moab July 3, 1975, will be Friday noon, at Winder 10th LDS Ward chapel, 1361 E. 4865 South where friends may call one hour before services. Burial will be at Valley View Memorial Park.
Born May 19, 1952, in Salt Lake City to Robert E. and June Pearson Crouch. He was a river runner; and former employee of the Newspaper Agency Corp.; a graduate of Granite High School, he attended the University of Utah, and was a member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include his parents; brothers and sisters, Donald L. (Judy) Jester, California; Mrs. Melvin L. (Margie) Lane, Hunter; Mrs. Jerry L. (Kathleen) Webb, Sandy; Pamela, Corey D., Wayne L., all Salt Lake City.
