Our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle, Daniel M. Gates, passed away March 9, 2018 at home after a valiant battle with brain cancer.
He lived a life of unselfish service. He was born June 8, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Daniel and Jean Gates. He graduated from Granite High School. He married his eternal companion, Marian Boggess, on September 20, 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Dan worked as a Master Technician at Carlson Cadillac for 27 years before opening his own Auto Repair Center, Millcreek Automotive. Dan was full of adventure, loved boating, spending time with his family, traveling and going to the Utah Jazz games. He was a scouting leader for over 30 years and served in many church callings. He could fix anything that broke or needed repair.
Dan is survived by his sweet wife, Marian, his children: Mike (Tammy), Shawn, Heather (Brent) Buttars, Greg, Brent (Kami), and Darin and his 9 grandchildren whom he adored. Preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17th at 11:00 A.M. at the Bluffdale 14th Ward, 15429 Iron Horse Bld. Bluffdale, UT. A viewing will be held Friday, March 16th from 6-8 P.M. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 W. Riverton, UT, and Saturday from 10-10:45 A.M. at the church.
