Joan Fagg-Spencer was born May 21, 1952, in Salt Lake City, to Donald Walter Hottinger and Leah Peterson. She died on August 25, 2012 in Salt Lake City. Joan met John Rex Spencer at his father's service station, Willard Fagg's Sugarhouse Conoco ; they were married April 7, 1972, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 4, 1973. She graduated from Granite High School in 1971, and then attended LDS Business College. Joan retired from IHC Salt Lake Clinic and Cottonwood Hospital after 24 years of service. Joan was a faithful member of the LDS church, having served in many callings. Joan was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Joan is survived by her husband, Rex; children, Jason (Jen), Michelle (Ruben) Lopez, Gregg (Tara); grandchildren, Cydnee, Jaeger, Aubree, Easton, Alex and Logan; two sisters, Donna Lee (Jerry) Jensen, Gayle (Greg) Curtis. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Willard and Naomi.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at the LDS Church located at 7690 South Chad Street, (785-800 E.) Midvale, Utah. Viewings will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2012, 5-8 p.m., and Tuesday, 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Online condolences at www. jenkins-soffe.com.
