Laurie Vernon (Van Luvanee) VIEW PROFILE

Laurie Vernon (Van Luvanee)

6/6/1952 - 9/6/2015 - Laurie was all set to join us at our 45th Reunion this year as of 8/21/15 - then I was contacted on 8/27/15 by Gary Purington about Laurie being in the hospital and his wife Mary Losee along with Laurie's mutual friends, Ruby Forester, Cherryl Bailey, Debbie Huish (I have not mentioned their married names here) were there waiting for news on Laurie.

On 8/26/15 - from what a gather from different sources - Laurie woke up not feeling well - she had had a kidney transplant several years before. When she called her sister that morning complaining about not feeling well, her sister immediately called 911 - then got a hold of Laurie's husband Gary, and she was taken to IMC.  She had experienced a stroke. In the hospital it was found that she had two brain tumors and one was bleeding into her brain. She also opted not to be given any further medication for her kidney.  By that Friday she was sent home and Hospice Care was initiated.

Gail Baker Raby called me Sunday evening (9/6/15)  after Mary Losee Purington called her, with the news that Laurie had passed away.... They kept her heavily sedated due to the extreme pain she was in - she had moments of being lucid and was able to visit with school chum gals she still stayed close to both in the hospital and at home with hospice care..... But the last few days she was in such bad pain that when she was awake she was fairly unfriendly..... As Gail said, she is now out of pain and in God's care - unknown if or when there will be a funeral or memorial service at this time.....

We will remember her at the reunion tho......
