Obituary: Shanna Lee Buffmire Harris

Shanna Lee (Buffmire) Harris died June 21 at the age of 46 after a heroic battle with breast cancer.

Her upbringing in Utah nurtured in Shanna a love of the outdoors which she shared with others as a Girl Scout director and leader. Her various jobs included working on a fishing boat, selling sporting goods, working in the mental health field, and homemaking.

She will be missed by a large and diverse community of loving friends and colleagues. Shanna died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her children Jessica and Benjamin Harris and other family members: Molly Kretz of Vancouver, Ken Harris of Vancounver, Judy Ann and Lamar Buffmire of Salt Lake City, and Kathy and Matt Labadie and Amani Reed of Portland.

A celebration of life will be held at the Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes in Portland, Oregon at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 26. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
