Dell Gillett

 Dell Lewis Gillett

Dell Lewis Gillett was born in Salt Lake City on October 16, 1951 and he left this world unexpectedly on the morning of January 29, 2020. Dell worked for decades in the family business installing fire protection systems. He was a skilled pipe-fitter and took pride in his work ethic. We respectfully and gratefully remember him as a very hardworking man. His dependability was an anchor to others and we remember and love him for the way that he supported his wife Jimetta over the last nearly 30 years, and for his loyalty to his children and grand-kids.

Dell loved camping and fishing and had a sense of humor that made everybody at ease. He was a tinkerer and would spend many hours working on projects in his shed. In particular, Dell made special items from the Cherry and Walnut trees on the family property. His handmade items are treasured by those who received them as gifts.

Dell Lewis Gillett is survived by his daughter Christa, his son Rick, his wife Jimetta, his three step-children, Michael, Dennis, and Lisa, and by 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and his siblings 2 sisters and 3 brothers. While words are inadequate to describe a man’s character or his life, the family and friends who survive him will carry his memory with a smile and Dell will be very missed. Catch a big one for us, Pops! We hope the fishing is good!

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 7, 1 pm. Location “The Chateau,” Larkin Sunset Gardens.
