Obituary: Daniel Jesse Holladay

Today we honor our beloved son, who has entered into the peaceful arms of his Father in Heaven, after having fought a courageous battle with a long-term illness. He never allowed it to change the way his bright spirit uplifted all those who came into contact with him.

Daniel Jesse Holladay was born on December 11, 1981, in Provo, Utah to loving parents, Lisa Ann Garrick Holladay and Gordon K. Holladay. He has been living in Holladay, Utah for the past eleven years. Daniel was attending Olympus High and was very active in high school activities such as track, cross-country, choir, student government and was enrolled in Advanced Placement courses. He received many outstanding academic achievement awards and was a member of the National Honor Society all three years, while attending Olympus High. Daniel was an Eagle Scout and an active member of the LDS Church and community. He had been accepted and was planning to attend Brigham Young University on scholarship this fall of 2000.Daniel was a spirited young man who enjoyed hiking, snowboarding and climbing with family and friends. Daniel found a strengthening peace in nature and animals.

He is survived by his parents, Lisa Ann Garrick Holladay and Gordon K. Holladay; his sister, Hillary Holladay (Mark) Maxwell; sweet younger brother, Mitchell Garrick Holladay; and many loving grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Janet Kenner Garrick.
