Kim always had a smile on his face. He was a good athlete, a kind person and I liked him. I'm sorry to hear he passed.

Kim was one of those guys you just enjoyed being around. It didnt matter if you were in class or in the locker room he was alway happy, fun and frendly. He befrended everyone and made everyone feel better for just being around him. Kim was one of the guys i was hoping to see at the reunion and when I leaned of his passing I was heartbroken. Such a great person.

Kim and I met in 8th grade at Churchill Jr. High and we became fast friends. We were nearly inseparable for the next six years. We spent countless hours together cruising around in his yellow Toyota Corolla or my blue Volkswagen. Movies, concerts, school stomps, sporting events, basketball at the ward house, poker games, keggers up Millcreek Canyon (Kim was always our designated driver), dragging state, and late night trips to JB's. Kim was a great athlete, playing on both the varsity football and basketball teams. After graduation, we went on a road trip to California. Butch Lodder, Jeff Machin, Kim and I. Kim somehow talked his dad into letting us drive his Cadillac D'Ville. I had had previous experience driving in San Francisco, so the guys let me drive when we got there. I'll never forget taking them down Lumbard Street in that giant boat. We stayed with Butch's brother just north of SF for a night or two and then took a few days to drive down the coast to LA. It was a trip I'll never forget.  After that Kim went off on a mission to Georgia and I went off to the U of U. In subsequent years we would see each other periodically at school events. We both had kids the same age attending Churchill and later Skyline, but as often happens we got busy with our own lives. It was many years later that I ran into Butch while having lunch at a downtown restaurant and he told me that Kim was suffering from a brain tumor. I went straight back to the office and called him on the phone. We chatted  for a few minutes, and made arrangements to get together in a couple of weeks when he hoped to be feeling a little better. That meeting never happened because Kim passed away not long after our conversation. Kim was one of the best human beings I've ever known. I never met anyone who didn't think the world of him. He was kind, compassionate, generous and had a great explosive laugh. I'm sure those of you who knew him will know what I'm talking about and agree! I feel so lucky to have spent those formative years together.
