She is survived by her husband, Larry Hoffman; daughter, Katie Hoffman; mother, Betty Cronin; brother, Michael Cronin; numerous other family members, friends and her beloved schnauzer, Max.

Maureen was the first person to befriend me when I moved to Texas... 8th grade at Ed White Middle school. We have remained friends for 37 years! I will miss this woman greatly.  She taught me what faith was all about.  I love you Maureen!

Stephen Moreno

Maureen Cronin Hoffman, born January 8, 1962, entered rest on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Maureen was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School. She earned her B.A. in journalism from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1984 and was a Lifetime member of Chi Omega. She worked at USAA for several years before joining the staff of St. John Neumann Catholic Church as a secretary and choir director. She was past president of the St. John Neumann Women's Club, secretary of the Alter Guild, a member of Catholic Daughters of America and a member of the board of Padua Place. Maureen was preceded in death by her father, Col. Jack Cronin; grandfather, Maj. Gen. George Peploe and grandmother, Maurice Peploe. She is survived by her husband, Larry Hoffman; daughter, Katie Hoffman; mother, Betty Cronin; brother, Michael Cronin; numerous other family members, friends and her beloved schnauzer, Max. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 5:30pm until 9:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm, at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 10:00am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 6680 Crestway, San Antonio, TX 78239. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Leslie Kay Bales (Norman)

Maureen came to my rescue in the 7th grade when I moved to SA from San Marcos and didn't know anyone.   I was a lucky girl to have her as a friend.   My thoughts are with her friends and family.
