I spent two years at Angelo State University, and then I transferred to Texas A&M. I have a broadcast Journalism degree from Texas A&M. I worked at the Johnson Space Center for about 10 years and worked on sports part time and then decided to work on sports full time and became the Executive Producer for the Portland Trail Blazers/Seattle Seahawks for 5 years. Then in 2002, I took a job with ESPN and ABC Sports. I am still there and I work as the Coordinating Producer in charge of our College Basketball coverage. I spent 10 years overseeing our NBA coverage before helping to launch Longhorn Network and SEC Network then moved on to college basketball. I have been fortunate to work with great people on great projects. I have received 4 National Sports Emmys for the NBA Finals, the College Football Playoff National Championship, and the World Figure Skating Championships. I also have 8 regional Emmy Awards. I have been blessed beyond measure.
My daughter Laina is not much of a sports fan, in fact, she could care less. She attended the Academy of the Arts in Hartford, CT majoring in theater. Laina graduated Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. Grant, Preston and Brooke are still in college and Collin graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in the Business of Music.
