For those of you who did not know Roy, he was a generous person first and foremost.  If he had it and you needed it, it was yours.  He had a BIG, infectious laugh.  Laughter like his was joyful.  He was a great sax player, a great brother to his siblings, a great son to his parents, a great dad to his kids, a great husband to his late wife, and a great friend.  Roy and I were inseparable in high school and we logged miles and miles running my El Camino, or his Le Sabre, out to Canyon Lake just to chill and enjoy life.  He was the original “Hold My Beer” guy, long before that phrase existed.  He would do crazy stuff that you or I would never dream of, then he’d laugh at the thrill of it.  He built a great life for himself and his family in Steamboat Springs where he owned his own business.  He was extremely proud of the custom home he designed and built, having done much of the work himself.  He and I stayed in touch through the years and when I’d call him or he’d call me, we never opened with idle chit chat.  We had a running joke in which whoever answered would simply start talking about something with no setup, as though we had most recently spoken earlier that day…  Even if we hadn’t spoken in months.  I loved knowing him and always enjoyed his company.  I’ll miss him.

We met in Mr Magness class and your friendship was something I appreciated over the 2 years. Lost contact with you after high school. I'm sorry about that. But really appreciated your friendship during some hard times in my life. You were always a good classmate and friend. Rest In Peace my friend.
