Such a lovely, intelligent, gentle, ladylike young woman...those are my memories of Aida.

I'll always remember Aida once told me that her father named her Aida because she was born just after the beginning of 1941. He used the letters as they corresponded to their position in the alphabet. Like her father, Aida was also fascinated with numbers and was an outstanding mathematician. She was one of the first, if not the first, woman to be hired to work at the Navy's N.E.L.C. on Point Loma because of her expertise in math. She was a beautiful, thoughtful and intelligent person.
