Mark Edward Rettig Dec. 17, 1961 - Nov. 2, 2012 Resident of San Leandro Mark Rettig, age 50, passed away suddenly on Nov. 2, 2012. Mark was born on Dec. 17, 1961 in Castro Valley, CA. He was a lifelong resident of San Leandro. He graduated from San Leandro High School in 1980. As a youth, Mark was a member of Boy Scout Troop 519 and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Mark was a General Foreman for Therma Corporation. Mark was an active member of Steamfitters Local 342. He taught welding and various other classes for the union. He is survived by his mother, Mary Rettig, brothers Paul (Julianne), Phillip (Lisa) and Steven (Angelica), stepdaughter Rachel Vegas, seven nephews and his niece, many Aunts, Uncles Cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Billy W. Rettig He loved his family, hunting, collecting, spending time with friends, working, union activities, teaching helping others. He was kind, generous and compassionate. He will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation with Family will be Thursday, Nov. 8 at 6PM to 8:30 PM (Vigil Service at 7PM). Memorial Mass will be Friday, Nov. 9 at 11:30AM. All services at Our Lady of Good Council Church, 2500 Bermuda Ave. San Leandro, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mount Diablo Silverado Boy Scout Council or the Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area.
