1948-2017

Gregory J. Brown returned to the presence of his Heavenly Father and his son, Justin "JB" Brown, in South Jordan, UT on March 23, 2017.Greg was born on April 6, 1948 in Price, UT, to Earl and Glenda "Bonnie" Brown. He graduated from Jordan High in 1966. He married Kathleen Mathis on June 21, 1969. Together they have five wonderful children, fourteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.Greg served honorably in the United States Air Force for six years. He was stationed at Homestead Air Force Base in FL for 4 of those years. Greg worked in the trucking industry for 40-plus years. The majority was spent with Young Electric Sign Company, and retiring with MBCI. His work ethic was unsurpassed. He was hard-working, very loyal, and always exceeded what was expected of him.Greg's hobbies included driving, hunting, shooting guns, and camping. He loved traveling, building things by hand, including many trailers. He had a great love of all music and in his spare time enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at Jim's Family Restaurant. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and going on family vacations. Greg helped everyone, always putting others ahead of himself.He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of 48 years, his children Kimberly, Kelly (Lindsey), Jason (Kimberley), and Jami (Travis) Rowen, fourteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his mother, Glenda "Bonnie" Brown, three sisters Donna (Lorin) Melander, Kay (Randy) Hiatt, and Earla Westlake. His mother-in-law, Beverly Mathis, three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Justin, his father, Earl J. Brown, father-in-law, Kenneth C. Mathis, his best friend, Les Jardine, nephew Travis McMillan, and his 2 "girls" Precious and Bailey. The family would like to thank Dana, Alexis, and his many other hospice nurses for the care and love they showed toward him. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11:00 am in the South Jordan 3rd Ward, 9750 South 2200 West, South Jordan, UT.
