Retired in 1996. Flunked retirement and I am working part-time with NM Economic Development Department. Usually work two days a week doing pre-audits on contract compliance. The job takes me all over the state. Adela passed away in 2006. She retired from CYFD. Adela used to sell Avon. In her memory, I continued to sell Avon but will soon give it up.
My two boys gave us five wonderful grandchildren. Carlos Jr. has three children. The oldest, Crystal is working at LANL. She completed a double master's program. The twins are seniors in high school. Patrick has two children. Both are attending college, one in WY and the other at the SFCC.
I am only on one Board now. I chaired the Northern Area Local Workforce Development Board a couple of years ago. At one time, I belonged to seven state and two national Boards being president and vice-president on the national Boards. Little by little, I said, I need to rest. I have to start enjoying my "somewhat" retirement. I look forward to having cocktails around 4:30 pm and being all most fully retired. It's nice to have youngsters open the door for an oldie but goodie like me...and call me sir. I love getting senior citizen discounts at restaurants and the like. My oldest grandson and I love to fish. In my spare time, I like to do my walks at the old Mager's Field.
I'm looking forward to seeing the guys. God bless.
