Should we invite our former teachers?

YES! I would love to see them.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

I have a proposal for y'all.  Since I have had a FEW people show interest in reviving the reunion, then I say let's see how serious you feel about it.  Like I have told you in the past, without the funds, the reunion planning can't even begin, and since it hasn't been a promising show of interest, I can't put faith into planning again without a show of support.  So, here is what I want to propose to all of you...

Since we can't put money down on the park yet, I can only leave it open in terms of a date.  It will most likely be during the summer, or we can push it to the fall if that would be better for y'all.  That is something that will be decided on once a response is received.  We can have a pot luck, family type day at the park. We would rent Jack Brooks Park for the day and everyone can either do a pot luck or bring picnic meals for just your family (again, that can be decided on later.)  Depending on the amount of responses we can add different festivities.  But we do it just for one day (a Saturday) spend the day at the park.  We charge $50.00 per couple.  You can bring your whole family for that price, or come alone for $30.00.  The price will go towards the park, security and any other odds and ends shared with the class.  All left over funds will go towards the planning of the NEXT reunion, that way their will be something (hopefully) there to start it off for the next one.

So, we keep is simple.  One Saturday, at the park, on an unknown date (just at this time, once we get enough for a deposit, I will let you know), pot luck or picnic style.

What do you think?  If you agree, I will open up a poll and you can vote "yes" or "no".  If you agree, I have also changed the ticket price, SO GO PAY!

SENDING YOUR PAYMENT will be the direct response I am looking for!

If we pick a date you can't attend and have already paid I will refund your money if you so wish, since the date is open, it is only fair to do so.

The two of you who have already paid, let me know if you want to wait for a response from the class to receive your refund or if you want it now.

I hope to see lots of people sign up, pay, and respond.

Thanks,

Brouke

Canceled Reunion

I hate to inform you all, but due to lack of interest, commitment, and over all care for the reunion, I am canceling all the plans at this point.

It saddens my heart to have to do this, but only three out of 300+ classmates have paid for their tickets, one being myself, which means only two people have stepped up to contribute.  And let me thank you both for that, I will be getting in touch with you to send you the refund.

I have tried to create a committee, but lack the volunteers to do so and their responses to the event.  Even without the volunteers, the funds just are not present for me to even move forward with reservations, even in the smallest of plans.  If we changed it to a day at the park, it wouldn't be enough to reserve it (considering the significant refund needed to the classmates who have paid).

As I have previously stated, in my numerous attempts to receive some form of help, I have been more than willing to handle the organizing of it on my own if need be, but there is no way I can handle the financial portion on my own.  And quite frankly I shouldn't have to handle the CLASS REUNION alone!

For those of you who complain of the ticket price, I will make mentioned of a few points: 1) ticket price was VOTED upon. 2)  If you don't wish to spend the entire amount, you had options in terms of price ranges, $20 for the family day, $80 for the night, or $100 for the whole weekend (which was the max price).  And the prices have been lowered in attempt to get you to buy them.  In a previous email I also tried to break down the cost so that you could see where the money would be going and how it isn't as bad as you might think.  I am also completely aware of the financial situations for most of us and know this is not money you would just throw away, but again, there are other options. I will not do that again, it's obvioulsy a waste of time.

I am sorry to sound so disenchanted with the task, but since the majority of you seem to careless, I will not put the energy and time into something that so many people disregard.  I have already put a lot of time and energy into this reunion,  and have been so disappointed at the many "I'm just too busy", "I don't care", "This is stupid" responses that I simply refuse to put forth anymore of my time and energy when I don't see that the majority of the class cares.  I was so excited to see everyone and their families, and to truly work on the reunion, but as much as it breaks my heart that so many of you do not feel the same I will quit bothering you about it and hope that someday you will realize how special our class reunion is.

If I see some form of POSITIVE response, then perhaps we can build on something new, scratch the old idea if we must and do something else, even if it's just a family day, but until then, I wish you all a blessed life!

Your classmate,

Brouke Rose-Carpenter

VOTE RESULTS:

The results from the "VOTE" Survey were tallied at midnight on July 10th.  To see the end results look under "10 Year Reunion" on the left side of the page.

YOUR PROFILE:

New questions have been added to your profile.  Please take your time and read through them and answer as much or as little as your want.  We will compile all the profile information to create an Alumni Yearbook, which will be given out at the Reunion.  Once you have filled out all the questions you wish to submit for the Alumni Yearbook, please answer the final question, "Is your profile information ready to submit for the Alumni Yearbook", select YES, until it is ready, set the answer to NO.  Once it is changed to YES, then we will know we can add it for print.  Until then, if we see you have it set to NO, we will at least know you are working on it.

ALUMNI YEARBOOK:

Every registered classmate will have his or her own page, created from the compiled information on your profile.

We will also add pictures to your personal alumni page, but we will work out a submission form later on for that.  For now work on your profile questions.
