In addition to Rob Barror, Bob Markham was one of my "home boys," so to speak. Great guy; quiet, but playful and mischievous, and smart. Died very tragically in an auto accident on San Marcos Pass in the early 70s. Another neighborhood friend of mine from grade school into the college years. He left a family and 2 or 3 children. One of them got a hold of me in the early 00s while I was convalescing from a little bout with cancer. It was great to fill her in on some old memories of her father. May he rest in peace.

Bob, I remember so well from Main Street School. In kindergarten, he kissed me as I was passing out the graham crackers and, during recess, he chased me around the tall cypress in the kindergarten yard and kissed me again. He was always fun-loving with a wonderful comic sense, and he flashed a beautiful smile. It is sad that he is not in this world. I treasure my memories of him.
