Vickie Silva (Cauchon)

John Allen sent me this notification and information:

"My good friend, Vickie Silva Cauchon, passed away this morning.  (May 30, 2021) She lived not too far away from me when I was a kid on Cypress St. and we went to Santa Maria High School.  She now lived in Temecula and we bumped into her and Maury at the county fair, local mall, etc.  She was a bubbly and positive person, and we will miss her."

The following post is from Vickie's husband, Maury Cauchon:

"My wife of 44 years, Vickie Cauchon, succumbed to metastatic breast cancer after battling it since 2001.  She was born 11/04/50 survived by her husband, Maury, her daughter, Michelle, and two sons, Kevin and Korey plus 5 grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to Metavivor which does research for treatment and care."

My oldest and dearest friend wil be missed so very much.  We were friends for the past 60+ years and went through good and bad times together.  Her battle was long and hard fought but she never complained.  I will miss here dearly and send my love and blessings to her family.  We have a new guardian angel watching over us.  Love youheart

Vickie and I were friends from church for many years and dated a couple of times.  She was the sweetest girl and a pleasure to hang around.  I only saw her a couple of times after high school and she was just as cheerful then.  Condolences to her family and friends.  Rest in Peace sweet Vickie.

I feel so sad to just learn of Vickies untimely passing.  Vickie was such a wonderful highschool friend, as she was very kind and welcoming to new people. Vickie was beautiful, cheerful and had a good sense of humor.  Vickie, Elaine and I enjoyed some fun girl time together.  I went to her wedding and she went to mine.  Unfortunately, I regret that life carried me in other directions and I lost touch with most of my highschool friends. Dearest Vickie, You are a Jewel in the Masters Crown, be at peace.

I had a few classes with Vickie. 56 year's later I have never forgotten I had a crush on her because she was a kind beautiful caring fun person to be around. Our time at SMHS from '64 to '68 as students was the best time in my life for good clean fun crusing and the friends we made and Vickie helped make SMHS a better place.
