Many people knew Jay's laugh and ready smile. I knew another side of her as well, someone who would honor a confidence no matter how difficult, and respect my right to make my own decisions no matter how stupid those decisions were. And then, when I realized too late just how huge my mistake was, she was there to help make it right. Even though it had been a long time since we saw each other, Jay was and always will be one of my dearest friends. Missing her is made bearable only because I know she will never be in pain again.
