Comments:

My career was in computing and high tech for close to 50 years as an entrepreneur, academic, civil servant, mentor and Board member of companies.

Completed M. Sc. in Mech Eng in 1961. Objective was to have a career as an Engineering faculty member. Joined the faculty at UofS in 1960. But my career in engineering was cut short.

In !961, I joined the Government of Saskatchewan as a programmer/analyst. By 1966, I was the executive director of the Government Computing Center and ran it like a Crown Corp.

In 1971 we left and went to Waterloo, Ontario, and I inrolled the the Ph.D. program in Management Science at the University of Waterloo, and joined the University of Guelph as a faculty member in Comp. Sci.

1981, we moved to Calgary, I was a professor of Comp. Sci., and Director of Academic Computing.

1989, I left the university and started a Software Engineering company that we sold in 1998 and I retired from active employment.

Since then I have been on the Boards of Directors of over 14 companies (still on 2), and have been an Executive in Residence in the faculty of Management at the UofC. I mentor start-up high tech companies in Alberta and teach an MBA course in Entrepreneurship.

My wife and I have been very active in Hemophilia care across Canada and the world, holding executive rolls in the society. We battled for better care for hemophiliacs with nearly every one that had something to do with blood products and hospital care. Unfortunately we lost a lot of friends from HIV or Hepatitis C. We both have Life Memberships in the Hemophilia Society and I have a Queens Jubilee Medal for volunteer service.

Inducted into the Sask. Sports Hall of Fame with my Father for rifle shooting. We were on the same rifle team that competed at Bisley, England.

It has been a rewarding and busy life.
