What have i been up to? A whole lot of nothing and thats the way i like it.
Graduated from Pitt with a Chem. E degree. Not that i've used it mind you.
Didn't know what i was doing job search wise and ended up working for Lucent Technologies near Allentown PA. Met my current wife there (If your not yet married, my advice is marry someone smarter than yourself).
Moved to....wait for it....giggle....BUFFALO. And you thought it got cold back home. Hooked up with a pharma company and still here. On that note, if you have had surgery in the last few months and used Heparin (blood thiner), then you used an injectible product from production lines that i'm responsible for. You should be very afraid. Very very afraid.
That pretty much sums it up. No kids, no house (the wife and I always seem on the verge of leaving Buffalo), not even a dog (which i actually do regret). Rather dull really. Yet i'm content, so i guess thats all that matters.
Too many fond memories. Those from the old crew and you know who you are, i miss you all. I really do.
There is something about the bond of freindships formed at an early age that sets them apart. Not necessarily better than other freindships, but differnt. A more pure bond if you will.
I always smile when i return to the old stomping grounds, which is not nearly as often as i would like. The memories of those years flood my thoughts. A subtle smile appears on my face, and all too often a laugh from an event or joke told long ago will occur again.
I cherish those memories, and thank "the crew" for each and every one of them.
We have since seperated in part, lost touch in a few cases, live all over the country. Despite this i'm willing to bet those bonds remain.
So to the crew if you are reading this. When you get home, or if your at home, pour yourself a shot. Focus on one Friday or Saturay night memory from times long past. Drink one with me / us. Those times are past, but the memories of those times live on. As do the bonds that formed from them.
Some freindships will never and should never die. The freindships of which i write are an example of that.
Damn, that was so darn mushy, now i'm gonna need a BUNCH of shots. Hell skip the glass and just pass me the bottle.
