If you go to the site this info came from (not sure who found it and posted it, but thank you) it shows that George's brother sadly passed on 2009, and their parents in 2014, & 2018.  So sad to imagine losing your children before your own passing.

I recall George had a younger sister named Susan (often called Susie), but no mention of her.

My brother, Ron, and I first met George while in church Sunday school. As a member of our church youth group, George played a part in one of my most unforgettable life experiences. In the summer after freshman year, our church bought an ancient school bus and then proceeded to haul us high schoolers down to San Carlos, Sonora. As a result, 20+ teenage boys and girls slept on the beach, painted a small church in Guaymas, practiced Spanish, played guitars, sang folk songs and swam in pristine waters full of sea plants, fish, sea urchins and starfish. George, Greg Besh, Chris Chreighton, Ron and I hung out together. George was the clever one, always knowing how to wring as much fun as possible out of this remarkable situation.

In high school I looked up to George. I enjoyed his company. We took many classes together. He was naturally very intelligent, though he once complained he did not apply that gift like he should to his high school classes. He was athletic and worked hard to improve his physical skills. He loved people, cars, running track and music. I thought he had it all. I aimed to someday be more like him.

The last time I saw George, I was working on the front end of a grocery store. It was a summer Sunday in 1983. I spied George, and the two young women he was with, waiting in line to purchase ice, snacks and soda. All three wore brightly colored swimming apparel. I shouted out to him. I asked him to move over to my checkout lane. He recognized me and pushed his cart on over. He looked so darn happy. He smiled and then explained they were going wind surfing at Lake Pleasant. I thought that was just so cool. He also told me he was now a doctor. We said goodbye and I said we needed to get together soon. We didn't.

I don't know why George left us while he was so young. He was quite the character. I often think about him.
