Dennis Smith (Eddie Smith in high school) was our red headed, three sport outstanding natural athlete. Strong, determined, often quiet and thoughtful, a young man who had faced misfortune in life. I had envied his athletic skills since the third grade. He ruled on the Loloma playground fields, as he did later at Paiute. Dennis Smith was the player you would always pick first when chosing a team.

Denny's family sold the property at the corner of 68th and Osborn, and moved to the LA area.  Somehow Denny and Robbie Jackson both ended up living in Bellflower, CA, after the summer of '69.    I went out to visit a few times, once with an NAU friend who was from Newport Beach, another couple of times on my own.

Unknown to most of us, Denny enrolled at Cerritos College and played football there during the 1969 and 1970 seasons.  Imagine being a community college coach and having Dennis Smith just show up as a walk-on at the start of the season.  Must have made his day.

There are so many facts about each of us after H. S. that most

of us have never heard. I think more commonalities than we realize!

Thanks for sharing Avtar!
