Chris was a great friend of mine.  He had an uncanny way of showing up wherever I went on holidays with my wife, "Just passing through and thought I would stop in," he would say.  One time, we went to Maztatlan and as we were crossing the border back to the US in Nogales, he dropped a large bottle of rum that shattered on the tile floor and bare foot people were practically jumping out the windows and doors to avoid the glass.  Things like this happened virtually every time we went somewhere.  Never a dull moment.  I was a consultant to Nissan when they were in LA and I often got together with him for dinner or whatever.  He was a great guy.  He died in LA, with his ashes were spread in Santa Monica Harbor.  He loved LA.
