Winston went to Kiva and road the school bus with me.  We would drive out to the rez and drop him off near this small looking hut.  Man, the poor guy, i thought who lived in such a small home.. Later I learned I was just a dumb Wasicu (white person).

Winston once asked me if I wanted to smoke some "reefer?"  I told him I didn't smoke.  He looked at me oddly and said "you mean you act that why normally".  He was only kidding Right?

Winston and I were "blood brothers" from our Kiva days. I visited Winstons home which consisted of 2 or 3 hogans and a main house on Pima road. His father was the McCormick Ranch foreman. Winston took me to Paradise Arabian Horse Show on McCormick Ranch.

What a beautiful tribute both Carmela and Marty to Winston. I also remember Winston. My memory does not recall that he passed away in 1969 but I am so glad that you had put that in as a remembrance of him . what a beautiful tribute both Carmen and Marty to Winston. I also remember Winston. My memory does not recall that he passed away in 1969 but I am so glad that you had put that in as a remembrance of him. I know he was in at least one or two of my classes. Carmela I love your story!  Again and I can't say it too much we have lost too many in our wonderful class of 1970 ??
