Don Palmer, what an athlete. High jumped over 6 feet as an 8th grader at Paiute Elementary School.. Went on to Scottsdale High School with a Freshmen Football Team, a Junior Varsity Football Team, and a Varsity Football Team and was selected for the Varsity Football Team that went 9 and 1 that season so obviously a very talented team. Don would go on to win All State accolades as a tight end, be a star on the basketball team and of course a Track star as well.
The ting I remember the most about Don is how he treated his teammates he never looked down on the less talented members of the team. Don always made time to chat, share a joke, or just shoot the breeze before a game as he sat polishing his shoes. I was not a close friend of Don's but I had the highest respect for him and always tried to be as good a team mate for him as he was to me. Rest in Peace
