Gary Baskett

Finding Christ has allowed many good things to enter my life an provide inspiration. I have taught and coached at five high schools
and three colleges This is my 42 yr. teaching.
Married 32 yrs and now divorced the past 9 years..
As the head track coach at Mead H.S. we won five state team titles and went seventeen years undefeated (159-0). I coached 33 individual state champions, 24 all americans and was voted into the Washington Track Hall of Fame and was the Washington state HS coach of the year three times. I was voted the runnerup National High School Track Coach of the year in 1997. Currently I am the throws coach at Whitworth University in track. The team has placed 3rd in the Nationals twice.I have been the National Assistant Coach of the Year for the past three year in the eight western states.
I was the National Masters 60 yr. old shot put champion and was forth in the 2003 World Games shot put in Puerto Rico. The challenge of influencing young people to see their own best self is and has been my passion.
