Lois was related to my wife's side of the family. I would see her at family reunions. When she died the headline in the PI said that "The Mother Theresa of Seattle has died." She helped a lot of people in her job with a community services organization.
After spending a lot of time together as children Lois and I roomed together at the U. I remember we would share a quart of ice cream ( Chocolate-marshmallow) because in those days there were no refrigerators in the dorm rooms. We would hang perishable food out the window. Throughout her too short life she continually gave of herself to the community. She is missed.
