Obituary for Tommy Phillips

TOMMY PHILLIPS

Enville, TN: Thomas Lynn Phillips age 68 passed away February 20, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born April 6, 1950 in McNairy County, the son of the late Leonard Carroll and Mary Ruth Parrott Phillips. He married Linda Sue Martin on December 18, 1971. They made their home at Enville since then. He was a truck driver from 1978 until 2000 when he retired. He had driven for H.D. Forgy, Landstar and Boll Weevil freight carriers.

He enjoyed riding horses, fishing, singing, square dancing and deer hunting. He had served as an Alderman for the City of Enville and was a member of the Enville Methodist Church.

Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Martin Phillips of Enville; a daughter, Christy Phillips of Enville and a brother, Dennis Earl Phillips of Jacks Creek. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Kay Long.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with John Paul Robertson and Bill Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Enville.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday.
