Carl “Steve” Stephen Brown, 46, of 9 Kelley Drive, died Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Oconee Memorial Hospital. Born in Oconee County in 1961, he was retired from J.P. Stevens where he was a color shop fabricator. Steve was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Lyman. He was a veteran of the US Army.

Surviving are mother of the children Karen Annette Lyle Brown, son Tim Brown of Walhalla, daughter Kayla Brown of Walhalla, brother Richard Nix of Seneca, sisters Joy Smith and Pamela Stroud both of Greer, three grandchildren, TJ Brown, Hunter Brown and Chloe Brown, fiancé Elizabeth Phillips of Seneca, Kegan Phillips, Mary Phillips, Bessie Phillips and Katie Crain. His parents Carl Edward and Frieda Annette Farmer Brown predecease him.

Funeral services will be 4 PM, Thursday, September 13, 2007 in the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home in Westminster. Burial will follow at First Baptist Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 2-4 PM, Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
