Jan was my best friend.She died after an accident on Singing Pines Road,she died at Greenville Hospital about 19 days later.I have always missed her throughout my life and always will,love you alot Jan!
Jan and I had the same homeroom class throughout junior high and high school because we shared the same last name "Grant". I always thought alot of Jan and was saddened that she was taken from this life at such an early age.

I am so glad to have this forum to speak of Jan. She was a special person. Besides being one of the most beautiful girls in school, she was so, so intelligent. She and I were not really personal friends, but we had a civics class or some such taught by Mr. Harris, I think it was 11th grade. She and I would have open debates on political views in class to the point that Mr. Harris and the class would just listen. We were both so opinionated, but we never spoke in anger. I have often wondered about the potential difference Jan would have made in the world had she not been taken from it. Ironically, she lies in rest in Oconee Memorial Park Cemetary, not ten feet from my grandmother who also passed in 1979. I always say hi to Jan when I visit granny. Jan was awesome!!
Jan died as a result of injuries from an automobile accident.
