Dave Gilden died on March 24, 1991 at Oconee Memorial Hospital. He was 30 years at the time of his death. Dave graduated from Clemson University. Following graduation, Dave was hired as a math teacher at Seneca High School. He taught Trig and Advanced Calculus. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Gilden and sister, Gretchen Gilden Harbin.
I considered Dave a very good friend in school. He was always kind and pleasant and easy to be with. The last time I saw him, my husband and I were eating lunch at Time Drive In. Dave was having lunch with a fellow teacher, and it looked like they were having a serious conversation. I smiled as I passed their table, but I chose to be polite rather than interrupt their conversation. I have always regretted that I didn't go ahead and butt in and speak to Dave. It wasn't long after that I learned of his passing. Dave, we miss you.
IF MY MEMORY SERVES ME AS CORRECT DAVE DIED FROM COMPLICATIONS OF PNEUMONIA. HE IS BURIED NEAR MY BROTHER JOHNNY ENGLISH AND I SAW HIS MOTHER OFTEN AND WE TALKED OF DAVE. SHE TOLD US WHAT HAPPPENED TO DAVE AND HIS DEATH. TO ANY ONE WHO IS LOST IS IS HARDEST ON THE ONES LEFT BEHIND. FOR THEY ARE FREE
