Oscar Lee Goodine

Mr. Oscar Lee Goodine, 37, was born in Oconee County, S.C, April 19 1958 to Elvira J. Goodine and the late Abraham Goodine.  He departed his life July 8, 1995 at Dekalb Medical Center, Decatur, G.A. after a battle with leukemia.  He was a 1977 graduate of Seneca High School.  He attended Gardner Webb College, Boiling Springs, N.C.  He was very active in sports.  He loved football in which he received numerous trophies including “most valuable player.”  He also ran track in which he set many records.  After a severe knee injury he moved to Atlanta, G.A. and began doing construction work.  He was a member of Travelers Rest Church.  He leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife, Robbin Vincent Goodine, his mother Mrs. Elvira J. Goodine, his children; Kimberely and Desmond Dewese of Rock Hill, S.C., Christopher and Tasha Goodine, a step-son Shaun Vincent all of the home.  His sisters, Mrs. Mary Hines of New Rochelle, N.Y., Mrs. Annie L. Blackwell of Rock Hill, S.C., Mrs. Sarah Bruce, Mrs. Christine Henderson and Mrs. Eudotsie Hoover all of Seneca, S.C., his brothers Mr. Henry and Mr. Jacob Goodine both of Rochelle, N.Y., Mr. Perry Goodine of Charlotte, N.C., Mr. Jerry Goodine of Warner Robbins, G.A., Mr. Lawrence and Mr. Ernest Goodine, both of Rock Hill, S.C., and Mr. Randy Goodine Of Seneca, S.C., 9 brothers-in-law, 2 uncles, Mr. Jacob Mitchell of Tampa, F.L., and Mr. Curtis Goodine of Seneca, S.C., 3 aunts, Mrs. Lourine Goodine, Mrs. Dorothy Goodine and Mrs. Ozelia Goodine all of Seneca, S.C., and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and special friends.

Mark Drost (1975)

One of the most dynamic running backs to ever play at SHS. I always liked Oscar. He had a good heart. Rest in peace my friend.
